Posted that I got a 40th Anniv. Squier P a few weeks ago. Debated whether to bling it out with gold ashtray covers. Well, I decided to do just that. Kinda the bass equivalent of a gangsta gold plated AK47. Well, it turns out it's near impossible to find gold ashtray pickup covers for P basses! I've been a fan of Fender basses with covers since I was just a tyke and actually utilize them when I play so I really wanted to add them to this one. Well, it turns out I had a chrome set already, but I thought it might look "off". And then I realized that the original P basses with gold anodized pickguards had nickel plated covers! Voila! Dilemma solved! Slapped 'em on today. I think it looks great! What say you?

That's too bad these covers do not exist, but it still looks great! The important thing is that you are happy.

I love this bass model very much, so much fun to play, and for what I paid, a super-win. Hope it brings you much joy over the years.
