NBD-Squier Matt Freeman

Pretty excited, my Squire MF came in today after ordering it two weeks ago. Prior to this bass I had a Ibanez jet king which drove me crazy from irritating neck dive and just the way the bass sat when playing while standing. Because of the non existent top horn the bass sat further back making the neck feel really long and thus uncomfortable fighting the neck dive and the longer reach.

I must say playing the MF has been a dream it sounds great and feels even better. The fret work is perfect no sharp edges. I really thought the lacquered neck would be a problem and was ready to bust out the steel wool if need be, but within the first 20-30 minutes I got used to it and don't think it will be a problem.

I must say I am in love with this bass. For a little under $400 Canadian I don't think I could have done any better. I really liked the classic vibe series but badly wanted the maple fretboard and wasn't a huge fan of either the sonic blue or fiesta red. The only thing I think I might upgrade would be possibly some cream pickup covers cause I think it would look good with the vintage white body.

I know no pic no bass so I have attached a few. They are iPhone pics so not that great.

I actually had some reservations because it was a sig model. I know who Matt freeman is but I don't think I have listened to a rancid song since I was in high school about 10 years.

I totally didn't even realize that it's the same colour combo as Colin greenwood. When I saw radiohead he was playing a sunburst p, but thinking and lookin back he did rock the vintage white p as well. I am a much bigger radiohead fan and if it was the Colin greenwood sig, I would have rocked that sig proudly. In my mind I think of it more as a classic vibe in my opinion in a better colour combo.

I didnt know MF and never heard any of his songs but when I saw this bass a couple of days ago in a music store I fell in love with it. The neck is a dream. The bridge looks very solid. I didnt plug it in but played in unplugged for a while and feels very comfortable.
It definitely looks and feels like a much more expensive P bass.
