First ordered an SR1600 then cancelled, then looked at Ray34s and would have gone that route except for the thread on the bad batch of tuners, then the SR600e that I originally wanted was finally in-stock. I rewatched Lobsters video on it (that gave me GAS for one to start with) and pulled the trigger. Came in this morning.

Of course, I'm at work so my wife is having all the fun with it. She's dabbling with upright and is currently doing an online class with someone using her fretless acoustic. So she's putting the newest SR through it's paces.

So ... thanks for the GAS lobster! :laugh:

Hi Doc! Loved the look of the SR4C MLTD you're playing there. A few years ago Ibanez made a similar Ltd edition with wood grain pup covers and maple board (SR55MLTD) but I wasn't gigging and couldn't justify the $$. I still keep my eye out for one every now and then. That, and an SR500M with maple board. I could live with the poop colored mahogany if it had a maple board. :laugh:

I guess I'm just hooked on SRs.:confused:

Beautiful bass! I owned the previous generation with the P/J configuration. I really miss it. Anyways enjoy the bass!

Had me an sr600 from the years when they were using mk1 bartolinis, upgraded the preamp to an Aguilar preamp which was a huge improvement, but unfortunately the bass was a casualty of college student stupidity. I salvaged the preamp out of it and put it into an 05 sr900 neck thru (has the Spector belly curve) and it’s just a great sounding and playing bass. Since then I’ve accumulated maybe twelve or thirteen basses and almost half of them have been soundgears; they’re just most ergonomic basses out there in my opinion.

The Major ordered a little Luna short scale to make it easier for her to learn on and it came yesterday, too. So she's been playing it with her video lessons all weekend. Thus ... she didn't take over my 600. :laugh:

Dumb question of the decade ...

I assume a super-short scale bass like the Luna uses regular tapeworms, just cut really short when restringing? There's no cheaper short length strings, correct? :laugh:

She wants tapeworms. Doesn't like the feel of rounds.

Just learned there are short-scale strings. Who'd a thunk it?
