NBD Stingray Special 5 H

I will start by saying I have owned allot of Stingrays and even two Specials that I eventually sold. The Specials that I sold were because I was not in love with the tone as much as I was with my other Stingrays. Well I came across this one and plugged it in and was blown away with how good the tone is. It is so good I had to buy it before anyone else could. I took it home and did a minor setup and this bass is perfect!
Low action with zero fret buzz.
No dead notes that I could find.
Balance is perfect
Best B string I have ever heard period.
No shielding required like my last two Specials needed.
And now the lightest bass I own at 8.3 lbs.
I am generally not a fan of really light basses because I always found heavier bass’s to sound better and balance better but this bass is an exception from my past experiences. I am very happy right now. Ernie Ball is knocking it out of the park right now if all there current basses are this good.

I like it man! I just bought my first ever stingray this past Saturday. A EBMM Stingray special. I’ve never played any other kind so I don’t know the differences in tone of them. But I love the sound, color, feel of the neck, and I got the action set at just under 2.0 on the low E and 1.75 on the G with no buzz. Anyways, your black one looks sweet.

Congrats on the new bass! That is surprising/concerning why you needed shielding added on the other 2 specials. Any idea why that was the case? One thing I’ve always loved about my stingrays is totally consistency between basses including super quiet electonics.

Beautiful!

My first great instrument was a black on black SR5, but with Rosewood. I just built a similar bass with the Custom Design Experience, but with Tortoiseshell guard, Ebony fretboard and Flamed neck. Would have honestly just bought a stock one if they offered Rosewood as an option with black finish. I'm pretty excited about the fancy neck though, but I'm going to have to wait a few months (which will be torture for me, lol)

The mono case looks great - what all came with it? Looks like lots of case candy in there.
