And there is a lot of advice out there about changes and etc. for your Ric. I just got a new Old Stock 4003 MapleGlo about a month ago.

So far loving it, and don't see a need right now to change a thing on it. I am a Finger style player using floating thumb technique, so the Bridge Pup Cover is fine for me, and nothing I need to over come. In fact it seems to give a nice option.

My only work around is the High Gloss finish on the back of the neck. To me adds a little drag after a while playing. I get around that with the tried and true Jeff Beck baby powder method.

I think I will leave the pickup cover on for a while at least. I like the way it looks.
I think I will grab on of those Zero Mod thumb rests and try that first.

I love mine. And while it's not going edge out my Spectors, it certainly will work its way into rotation. And it is a real fun bass for me. And a killer tone all its own.

And what is nice my Berg B|Amp can have a memory channel already programmed for the switch over from my Spectors.

Very nice! I had a Jet-glo some time back, But I didn't like the way it felt. So I got rid of it. I did enjoy playing it through 2 Amps though, using the Ric-O-Sound! Probably should've tried harder to like it.

People seem to love them or hate them but almost everyone thinks they are beautiful.

Sometimes it just takes some time to get used to a new Bass and sometimes it never feels right.
The fun is getting to try to find out.
For me a Ric feels great.

I find the bridge pick up cover makes a nice thumbrest, which works perfect for me since I always play behind that pick up anyway.
