Just got this baby in for a steal. I'm more of a Cirrus guy but I really dig this bass, restrung it with DR Fat Beams and set it up and gigged last night and tonight with it, probably gonna play it more this weekend too.

I just picked up a black 2003 Millenium p/j USA... Wow whata bass!! The neck feels as good as my Schecter Jazz California custom, which is saying a lot. Got the bass for under $200 off CS with a case and all the check list doc's and its like brand new too!

Only flaw I can see with the bass are the pick ups, passive p/j that sound a bit anemic. Anyone know what type of pups these are? I just ordered some cream Dimarzio Model PJ's today so this may turn into my main bass if I can get it to sound good enough :)

I have a black Millennium p/j, and that is my only complaint too. Everything else about the bass is fantastic.

firstly, the guy who got a usa peavey mill for $200 got a hell of a deal. secondly, I agree about peavey pj pickups. fortunately they're upgradeable.... and worth the cost if paying so little for the bass in the first place.

however the OP's bass is gorgeous either way and I'd love to own it!

What's the differences between the Cirrus, and Millennium Basses? I know I see players freaking over the Millennium preamps.

The USA Cirrus is a 5-piece, 24 fret neck-thru (though there are bolt-on versions) while the Millenium is a 1-piece, 21 fret bolt-on, and if I recall, both necks are graphite-reinforced. The Cirrus has a dual soapbar VFL pickup configuration while the Millenium has J/J, P/J, and J/MM configurations. The Cirrus pre is a straight 3-band EQ while the Millenium pre is 3-band with sweepable mids. To me, a Cirrus has a completely modern tone while the Millenium is more modern with a bit of vintage thrown in. Two different animals, but awesome basses either way you look at it.
