NBD Warwick GPS Corvette $$

It wasn't the exact color I wanted. First choice was blue and the second choice was the natural ash. Beggars can't really be choosers right now I guess. I only got to play it for a few minutes, and wow the setup is bad out of the box, but it sounds great!

I am super tempted to go buy the brushed silver MEC pickups to put on this, I think that would look really sweet.

Do most people stick with the Warwick strings? They're super grabby compared to the DRs that I've been playing lately.

How are you liking it after a couple months? Is there a big variety in tones?

Love it. It's the growl I was looking for with both pickups on and in serial. I can get a no-mud P/PJ-ish tone with the neck in single, bridge in serial, and the blend probably half way up the neck side. Soloing the bridge pickup I haven't been able to find a tone I like. That's my only complaint, I was hoping that soloing the bridge pickup I could get close to a Stingray tone. With a bunch of EQ I could probably get somewhere close eventually.

Thanks for the quick response. That "no-mud P/PJ-ish tone" is what I was hoping for.

I'm not too much of a bridge P/U solo'd player but am wondering if that is too "hollow" on the $$ or missing the "meat", lol?

Finally, how's the B-string? In one of the online vids the particular bass sounded like it lost some volume down low. It could be the recording gear or loads of other reasons so just curious of your thoughts. Thanks again.

No volume loss on the low B for me. What I do notice is I need to bump low mids a touch at the amp. Nothing drastic.

Yes to the "hollow" bridge pickup. You have to bring in some of the neck to get the meat back. It's definitely more of a jazz bridge voice than SR, even in humbucking modes.
