Been eyeing this strange beastie in a local shop for a few weeks and finally caught the owner working so we could talk business!

That's not a Kramer Duke, is it? I've got an early 80s Kay that's a pretty close copy (of a copy) of this bass, only with a P/J configuration. Fed back like crazy! Hope this one is better than mine.

The double J makes it fairly punchy. Has a series/parallel switch. Volume and tone knobs... has two capacitors in the guts, one on the volume knob... possibly a treble retention cap in series with the signal? I know it'll never BE a Stingray but hey if I can approximate it with electronics, I'll be happy. I'll probably post in Pickups & Electronics down the line but I'm thinking about potentially throwing in an Aguilar pre and some sort of MM shaped pickup... any suggestions?
