Double Bass NBD X2!

I went to The Bass Violin Shop in NC yesterday looking for a Shen SB150 hybrid and a blonde Shen SB90 but they didn’t have any 150’s in stock. So I wound up getting the SB 90 and a hybrid Calin Wultur.

I haven’t had very many Basses in my 30 years since I was a bass major in college and none of them were very good. These two Basses are fantastic. They play great and both sound pretty good too.

Yes, congrats. Just curious - what caused you to buy 2 new basses at the same time? What will you be using the 2 different basses for?

Easy! The Blonde is my red neck country bass that I’ll use in my country band and the acoustic acoustic Americana/pop band I’m in.

The Calin Wultur will be used for my small jazz ensemble with a female singer and other pickup jazz combo gigs.

I could have done t all with one bass but I love the big blondes but they aren’t appropriate for every stage.

Thx for the response. Makes sense. I'm currently buying my 2d bass - which is a big enough deal. I couldn't imagine popping for TWO at the same time!

Yeah, I like the blondes. And if I had 3-5... But buying my 1st axe, I didn't want one as my sole bass. Now, several years down the road and with more confidence, I could see it more. But let me get this SECOND one first!

Play the crap outta them. You realize, tho. With 2 basses, you've gotta put in twice as much practice!
