NBD! Yamaha BB734a

Just arrived! Needs a setup, but otherwise looks beautiful. I've never played one of these before, but it feels great so far, love the variety of sounds. I got a pretty good deal on Facebook Marketplace. Anyway, here she is:

I love my 735! Come join fellow BB lovers in the club:

Those are angled neck screws. According to someone somewhere on the internet, that keeps the neck more firmly attached to the body.

The bass has impressive sustain -- could be that or the through-the-body stringing, I don't know.
It's the neck. During installation, the angled screws receive final torque first, then the others.
Also, those necks are premium.

I played the new BBs for like 4 hours over a couple days at my local GC.
The 734a feels like a $2500 bass, and I agree, feels just as good as my US G&Ls.
It really does! Amazing build quality. I had a TRBX-604 (gave it to my son), and it had several build quality issues when I got it, and definitely didn't have the high-end feel that this does.

Very nice bass. You have a couple very interesting features there, one being the angled neck holes, but the through body stringing through the heel of the bass is something I've never seen before and is an excellent idea, keeps the string angle lower over the bridge. I am a huge fan of through body stringing so really like that idea. If I ever have a custom build I would go that way.
