The higher end Yamaha hardware always feels so premium to me.Thanks! I think it has pretty brand new strings, too. Man, these knobs, tuners, all the hardware is really nice.
It really does. It feels more premium than my American-made G&L.The higher end Yamaha hardware always feels so premium to me.
Those are angled neck screws. According to someone somewhere on the internet, that keeps the neck more firmly attached to the body. What are those 2 holes behind the neck screws?
It's the neck. During installation, the angled screws receive final torque first, then the others. Those are angled neck screws. According to someone somewhere on the internet, that keeps the neck more firmly attached to the body.
The bass has impressive sustain -- could be that or the through-the-body stringing, I don't know.
Yeah, it feels great. A little deeper than I'm used to, but it's not slowing me down at all. Also, those necks are premium.

It really does! Amazing build quality. I had a TRBX-604 (gave it to my son), and it had several build quality issues when I got it, and definitely didn't have the high-end feel that this does.I played the new BBs for like 4 hours over a couple days at my local GC.
The 734a feels like a $2500 bass, and I agree, feels just as good as my US G&Ls.
Very nice bass. You have a couple very interesting features there, one being the angled neck holes, but the through body stringing through the heel of the bass is something I've never seen before and is an excellent idea, keeps the string angle lower over the bridge. I am a huge fan of through body stringing so really like that idea. If I ever have a custom build I would go that way.Just arrived! Needs a setup, but otherwise looks beautiful. There are a few reviews around here already. I'm still a pretty new player, so I'm not sure how valuable my review would be, but I'll put something together once I've got it set up and gigged with it a couple of times.Congrats. Once you get it up,and running a review would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy.
