Congratulations, that looks really nice, and it's the first time i've ever been interested in a new bass from Gibson. It seems a bit like the new double humbucker offering from Fender, but i really like that it is a set- neck. I do wish the body were mahogoney instead, but i am just being picky now. This really looks like a bass i could enjoy. So,what is the weight like? The body looks kind of thin, which is quite appealing to me. Could you describe the neck feel? I really like the idea of the nitro satin finish, too.
A-step,i did notice on Sweetwater's site they offer a sunburst as well as an "antique" sunburst, altho the latter is nearly $300 more....
I think the antique is the newer 2014 models, maybe I am wrong. I am looking to get a natural to match my mapleglo 4003. I want one and just sold a bass locally for $800, its as if the stars are aligning, maybe I can put off new car tires another month hmmmm.

I don't remember what Sweetwater had it listed as but it was a little less then 8lb. 7lb11oz comes to mind. I like the neck a lot. Kind of reminds me of some of the pre CBS Precisions I've played. It's a fraction flatter in profile then the P-bass necks I currently have ( 1 fretted & 1 fretless for same bass) The volute makes the neck look bulkier then then it is. Gibson says the volute increases sustain but I think it to help the headstock stay on the bass..;-)

Both this model and a few remaining model Gibson SG basses are available for cheap (under $700) around the web. Both INCLUDE a good quality Gibson case. I'm thinking that if you ever wanted a classic (SG) or new model (EB) Gibson, you better snatch one NOW!

Have you SEEN the prices for the 2015 models? OMG (as my daughter would say)! Yes, they've eliminated the "satin" finishes and gone to all gloss. Yes, they all come with Gibson cases. Yes, they've made promises about this and that, but Holy Cats, they've jumped the prices up. Maybe by next Christmas they will have brought some prices down, but I get the impression that Gibson is getting serious about blowing out these remaining stock 2013 and 2014 models so they can get their customers "accustomed" to the new price structure.

Just when I've already blown the bass budget for this year, the great deals pop up. Typical.
