I recently acquired a Sterling Stingray, the Ray4 model, for half price off the Canadian list price. I'm very pleased with it. My favorite thing is it seems to have been created before they came out with the "sub" line, so it doesn't have the "SUB" logo. Instead, I can proudly call it a Sterling Stingray

No Sub logo, but does indicate 'Sub Series'
Much nicer.

I found mine on long and McQuade, in another town. I couldn't believe the price, so I had to call and ask if it was a mistake or not. It was used, but man, I can't find a single thing wrong with it, other than the intonation was a little sharp (easy enough fix though)

Congrats on your new bass! :thumbsup: I used to own one of those. It's a very nice instrument, especially at that price.

Your bass is actually newer. It's still part of the «SUB» line (as indicated by the words «SUB Series» below the SBMM logo). The big «SUB» logo was used on the Ray 4s up until a few years ago. When they got rid of that, they also added the «StingRay» legend to the headstock at the same time.

Yea i got it at L&M. It was in another province, but they do shipping so it wasn't an issue, plus they offer shipping insurance, which was a big bonus for me. I've seen a lot of posts about people who received a broken instrument and it had me worried haha

It sounds amazing, I love the treble boost. It reminds me of a P-Bass with a lot of top end and grind. I've gotten used to single coils, so it's nice having a different sound option. It does the punk sound amazingly, much like my Jackson P-Bass pick up, but with a lot more clarity
