I am very pleased with the way this turned out! Fortunately it sounds great! A really solid B string, in my opinion. I have been using DR Sunbeams 45-130. I would've hated to put all the time and money into it and then have it sound like crap...It really is nice! But, then again, I'm a big fan of the new American Deluxes. I think Fender has created a super Jazz Bass. And certainly a nice platform for those of us who like to mod our stuff. I may experiment further with different pickups and pre, but honestly, I'm very happy with the stock Fender stuff. And, yes, the matching headstock just does it for me!

Unfortunately, Fender does not offer matching headstocks on most production basses. I, like many I believe, am a huge fan of matching headstocks, so I did my own. As far as the gold hardware goes, I bought it on E-Bay and replaced the standard nickel/chrome stuff. I sunk some coin into this bass, but I really like the look and feel it was worth while...

For whatever reason, I've always thought gold hardware was just the coolest thing, although, I never owned a bass that had it! And I never really liked the color red, and up until now, never owned a red bass or anything else! A few months ago I had this dream and I dreamed of this bass! I know, it sounds hokey, but its true. So I told my wife, since Fender seemed hesitant to give me my own signature model bass
