When it gets here, I'm going to put on King Crimson's "The Sheltering Sky" and groove out jamming along!!
Years ago I worked in an officer where I met a drummer chap, who'd lived in a village in Burkina Faso learning how to make djembe drums from scratch. The head of his (self made) djembe had split, so he was going to replace it.
What was unexpected was that he brought the raw goat skin to work, and was soaking it in the office bathroom.
The smell was unholy.
