Neck Intonation Problem

Ok the bass in question is this frankensxquire or whatever u may want to call it..

The A,D,AND G strings seem to hold tune fairly well but the E string is the problem. You can keep the open E in tune but when you fret any of the notes anywhere on the neck it goes sharp a 1/2 pitch. What is the method for keep it in tune? Truss Rod adjustment?

Intonate the bridge.

From looking at the position of your saddles, the intonnation adjustment is far out of adjustment or you have some very wierd strings. Do you know how to adjust the intonnation?

Go to the sticky and learn to intonate. We can see from the photo that your E string is hosed up. and probably the A....at least.

LOL hosed up? I haven't heard that term, should the saddle come forward or what?

If the note is sharp at the 12 or 13th fret, compared to the Open, Move the saddle back.
Do not trust harmonics for intonation, just open and fretted notes on a decent tuner that's good for -1/+1 cent (close),
However, a strobe tuner will easily get you there within 1/10 of a cent. Even a Korg dtr1000...etc will work nicely.

I couldn't find a sticky for intonation..I apologize. The screw is stripped on the back of the bridge to pull the saddle back, and I have a rack mounted DTR-1000 tuner. It's sharp across the board on any fretted note on the E string.

You could try loosening the E string and turning the screw with your finger, in small increments until intonated. Otherwise, you may want to get a duplicate screw from a hardware store to replace the stripped one.
