NECK RELIEF ON EPIPHONE THUNDERBIRD IV CLASSIC PRO

Well, as a new owner of an Epi T-Bird IV Classic Pro, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who can recommend the proper neck relief for it in order to get the best possible action without fret buzz. I currently have it set at .010 at the 8th fret, with 1st and last fret fretted.

Anyone out there who has this model who has their neck set straighter than that with low action and no fret buzz?

Edit: I guess I should add that I have the action set to spec, without fret buzz, but if I go any lower than that I get fret buzz from the 10th to 15th fret, ONLY on the D string. I would like to set it a bit lower without that issue. Anyone have thoughts/suggestions?

It depends on your way of playing. If you hit the strings hard, you may need more relief and a higher action. In my experience, the settings have nothing to do with brands. Take a look at these links or this series of videos. Good luck!

Depends on your bass too. You can't expect them all to have exactly the same level frets, so comparing with other owners isn't really helpful. Sounds like you need to check the frets from 10-15 - are notes fretted in that range choking out?

No just buzzing when I really hammer on them. The other strings aren't doing that though. That is what really throws me. I actually straightened the neck today to .002 relief, like my Rickenbacker, then raised the bridge a little bit. It almost elminated the fret buzz. I am probably just being too picky. Thanks.

It would not be too uncommon for these to have a couple of bumpy frets from the factory, so check that out if you still have issues.
