It's been about 10 years since I saw my first neck removal/conversion on a great bass and since then I see more and more luthiers both doing the operation for a variety of reasons, as well as designing the basses that way from the ground up, including very nice cases that help us travel more easily). What are the players thinking of this at the moment? And for those of you who are luthiers and builders, equally what are your thoughts? Who here has had experience with the "Decapitation" of their beloved? Asking for a friend? (not really...it's for me...I'm thinking of becoming a be-header). Thanks for your insights.
