Neck Removal Paranoia

Hey TBers, I have a quick question and I'm struggling to find the answer anywhere. I'm planning to try a body refinish on a bass I picked up cheapish because I like the neck. I was planning to take the neck off while I work on the body, is there anything I need to do to if the neck will be unstrung for a while? I'm thinking the neck might bow back from the truss rod tension?

Take the neck off and release the tension of the truss rod until the neck is flat. There's a point in which you'll feel the rod is almost loose and doing nothing...if it's flat at that point leave it right there.
