Need a middy overdrive

Hey TB, so I think I'd found a few awesome ODs to pair with my VTDI. Problem is, none of them sound good through my other small board built around a Sansamp BDDI. I use the BDDI with my P basses, it sounds soooooo right in a heavy rock mix. Now I just need an OD. I think the others didn't work because they're a bit scooped, so I'm thinking I need one that emphasizes the mids. Suggestions?
My current OD/distortions:
B3K, Boss OBD, Blower Box, Blonde, MXR M85, and a Pork Loin.

Having trouble with getting a low gain OD out of my rats. The distortion sounds great though.
I don't have that problem with the MXR. I did a recording of the low gain settings a couple years back, and if I weren't in a hotel with just a phone that makes linking difficult, I'd link you. I won't be home till late tonight but I will try to remember.

Man, if your Sansamp cant give you a mid forward OD with its dedicated mid control, go for an RBI, its sort of the rack mount version of the BDDI, but its clearly got a more variable tone pallet. Hell, it was good enough for Geddy and you cant get a more mid forward OD than that....IMHO of course.

I only used this one for a little while, but I found it to be very bassy and not particularly midrange-heavy. Great pedal!

Yeah, this has been my problem with Rat-type pedals in general. Haven't specifically tried the M85 though...

Southampton 5th Gear is the midiest overdrive (not fuzz) I know of
Huh, I've used one for a bit and found it to be very neutral as overdrives go. Much more true to the bass' natural tone, with less baked-in mid scoop or spike than pretty much every other OD pedal I tried.

Anyhow, I'm using an ODB for this. It's got a midrange EQ knob, and also a voicing switch that rolls off some bass if you want to get that kind of pushed-midrange distortion.

1 - Interesting. For me it was bassy with the tone set CCW from noon, but it got pretty mid heavy going CW from noon.

2 - Never had an issue with low gain on my Volt Thrower nor Blower Box. In fact, I've been quite happy with Rat based low gain setting. Rats generally poke the mids up around 1k, based on a chart I recently saw. I'd assume the clones follow this to some degree.
