Hey guys, I've been working with the SVT-4 Pro for a bit now and i really want a head that's simple. Any one have suggestions for a simple amp on the tone control side, but sounds great and is between 300 and 600 watts? Thanks!

Why would you want a simpler amp than that?
It's a dead simple amp with a strong featureset. Don't use what you don't need.
If you need any of these features (compressor, DI, Bi-amp out, graphic eq, limiter) then you'll have them at your disposal but FWIW, it's an industry standard because it's easy to use.
I suggest you try the Mesa Walkabout if you need to change, but your 4 pro is great.

I would have to agree with newbold, but I also won't turn down a chance to recommend the Hartke LH series. LH500 and LH1000. Cheap. Dead simple. Sound good. DEAD SIMPLE.
+1 million to the Hartke LH500 and LH1000. Fantastic super loud heads with a tube preamp based on the Fender Showman or Alembic FX-1 preamp. 4 knobs in total: Volume, Bass, Mid, and Treble. I've just bought an LH 500 a little over a week ago and I can tell you that there is a reason a lot of the big players have started to use them. They have a very rich tone that can go from smooth and deep to crisp and articulate. They stay clean at very high volumes and weigh less than what you're schlepping around right now. At 500 or 1000 watts, either head can really deliver a punch in any live situation. Plus a huge advantage is the cost. You can find a used LH1000 for around $300-400 if you look hard enough.

Very simple(volume,hi, hi mid, lo mid, low) with great features: bi-amiable, fx loop, di out. lighter and smaller than a led sled, and can be had for fairly cheap used. Will push an ampeg svt 8x10 with NO problem.

Shuttle 6.0 ... It doesn't get much simpler.. Very versatile.. Light as a feather.. and nice to look at..

If you like Ampeg tone: Ampeg PF500 or 350, they're great sounding, and simple EQ wise (especially the PF350)
If you want warm +tubey but don't need Ampeg: +1 to the Tone Hammer
If you want simplicity, great tone and the best CS in the biz: Any Genz Benz Shuttle (my personal choice)

+ an additional 64,000 for the Hartke LH1000. Had mine for months now and not even an inkling of a problem with it, plus if you mail in your info and stuff I believe it has a 3 year warranty under Hartke? It sounds great, built in limiter and "bright" control, cheap, and LOUD.
