Need Advice: IEM Earbuds for Single Sided Deafness

Like the title says, I have a couple problems when it comes to my hearing and selecting the right earbud and I would like advice on what to do. Due to a birth defect I have no hearing in one of my ears. Also due to that defect, placing an earbud in that ear is not going to be possible.

Could I buy a regular set of earbuds and just wear one side in and still get the stereo component through that one bud? Do single earbud systems broadcast in stereo? Are there single earbud systems that offer the dual/triple driver system?

Any standard IEM will give you only one channel of a stereo mix if you are able to use only one ear.

Given your circumstances and the fact that you are looking for something in a dual or triple-driver setup, I would try calling Ultimate Ears, Westone, and maybe Sensaphonics to see what they can do for you in terms of a custom IEM that sums both channels of a stereo mix into one ear bud.

If you run your IEM unit in mono (as I do) it won't be an issue.

If you are coming straight out of a headphone amp in stereo with no wireless IEM then you may need a stereo to mono connector.

A rolls pm351 box is switchable from stereo to mono and would be ideal if you are not using a wireless IEM that can be switched between mono and stereo.
