Need Advice!

At the moment I'm split between 2 amps...

I've been offered:

Ampeg B5R 300 watt head and a Classic 4x10" 500 watt SVT 410HE second hand for 900 euro.

I also have the option of an Ashdown ABM Evo III 500 with an Ashdown ABM 4x10 cab. This is about 1000 euro new.

What would you guys go for? Any other options around that price range?

All I care about is a monstrous clean tone, the rest will be added by and EHX BBM, EXH MBS and a Boss LS-2. We play heavy electronicy rock aloung the lines of Soulwax and Klaxons.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Ashdown all the way. the ABM line is their better stuff, while that ampeg head will leave you wanting more volume and tone, especially with your type of music.

yea, ashdown IMO. Cheap Ampeg stuff is not that good.

+1 That Ampeg is not one of their better heads, but that Ashdown rocks. Get that rig, you'll love it.

Not to mention Ampeg's service is rumored to be falling of a cliff while Ashdown seems to be getting very popular in Europe, which is where I assume you are.

Go for the Ashdown gear. That Ampeg head does not sound good nor does it have much power.
