Need Advice!

So my drummer is basically a Punk Ass Dick...Me and my guitar player are currently thinking about ditching him. The problem is we have no one to drum for us in our hometown and if there is someone they always suck or treat the band like crap. Anyways what should I do? Should I keep my old drummer and just suck it up like I have for the past two years with my guitar player or should I in the meantime use drum machines and sequencers to fill in the drummer until we have tryouts in the spring.

One more thing we do have a drummer in mind to fill in but he is my guitar players brother. Do you guys think it's bad to mix family with music. I played in a band with my brother and it turned out fine. But this isn't my brother though. I know things may get heated and I dont want a good brother relationship ruined.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the long jibba jabber.

well, if I can give my own 2c, I think that as far as the first question goes, I may be wrong but you seem to present it as if both the guitar player and the drummer are the problem? In any case, if there's noone better, then you may want to consider giving the guy a chance and dealing with the issues you have by communicating. I think in any case you can turn this into a learning experience for yourself!
as far as mixing family and music, I think there can't be a general way of approaching this, it can turn out fine or horrible.

whatever you go about doing, try approaching it in the most civil possible matter, its better for you long term, if anything.
Hope everything turns out fine!

Sure it doesn't just seem that way because you think so highly of him? I'd be a PAD around people who thought that of me, too.

I'd advise against it. You might end up like the Jonas Brothers.

sorry guys I meant putting up with my drummer alongside with my guitar player. My guitar player is my best friend never even had a musical argument. We are pretty compatible. As far as the drummer he doesn't even set his own **** up. He hasn't chipped in one buck even though we all beg him to. And he doesn't even get freaking new heads. It's nuts. Thanks for the advice. I think I might try out with the guitar players brother. We can call it later on it in the road.
