Need combo advice!

My old no-name cube amp just blew out and I need something to take its place. I initially bought a BA115 from GC but its too big for the space I practice in. Just looking for something inexpensive but decent sounding and RELIABLE to jam on. I only play bass once in a while and rarely play out. If I did, it would be through a PA or in a rehearsal studio with amps already there.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've kind of narrowed it down to a Roland Cube 30 and a GK Backline 112 but any suggestions are welcome. I would like to buy new and keep it under $300. Again my main priority is reliability.

well i know you want new, but if ur mainly jamming, and want sumthing thats reliable as anything, sounds great, etc.... i have an ibanez soundwave 65 watter that keeps up with practice sessions and i can give to you for like... 120.

SWR workmans 10 combo. 80 Watts,SWR sound, add ext. cab on it and play house parties (that is mainly what I use it for) Was thinking of selling my SWR workmans 10 combo for a GK 150-112s, so if you are interested PM me.

If you're not opposed to Used gear, or Ebay, you may want to check out a Carvin Combo. They have 2 that come to mind. The SB100 and the SB200. Both have a 15" speak, and a Tweeter. 100 & 160 watts respectively, and the more expensive one was $399 when new. $250 for the amp should leave enough for $hipping, etc...

100 & 160 watts may be a bit much. But these amps are BiAmped to that rating. Play through a single channel, and they are 50 & 80 watts RMS. Just about PERFECT for practicing at home, or a spirited jam session. I've played out with the SB-200, and it was okay...But you're not looking for a Session amp, right?

The last time I was at Music Go Round, they had a 600W Carvin combo (used) for $299.


Shop around, you will find some good used gear within your price range that, realistically, could get you more than you hoped for in the first place.
