Need help Deciding

Ok,Im gona be getting some money soon and i was thinking on getting the Fender Jazz bass.I currently own a Fender Mex P bass and its great,But when i played a Jazz i really liked it.

I was looking on GC and found some J bass's.there are a lot but i wonder which one to get.I can spend about $400-$600 on it.What do you guys think?

I would definitely go the used route. If not on the classifieds here, then check your local craigslist. You can get a much better bass for $400-$600 used than at GC.

I love my Geddy Lee Jazz, but they may be just slightly out of your range used. I've seen some nice American J's go for around $600-$650 used. But just check what the used market has to offer.

If you're patient for a week or two you can find either on Craigslist or Ebay, a good deal. I've done it several times.

My latest prize is a MIM Fender Active Deluxe, 3 years old, barely used, with Noiseless Pups, and Active Circuitry, 3 way EQ etc for $260. (He was asking $350 on Craigslist)
I swapped out the White Pickguard for a Black Pearl from Ebay @ $17 and put on Light Gauge Roundwounds, set up the action low, adjusted the neck and bridge for straightness and intonation and have one helluva great bass for UNDER $300 !

:hyper::hyper::hyper:

You can do the same with very little effort. With the leftover money you can buy another one for backup! or whatever else you like. Best of luck to you.
