Ok, so I managed to get a precision style neck off ebay for one of my project basses. It's the one on the left in the following picture - maple fretboard, black block inlays: What I'd like to know is what the hell it came off of?! It's definitely not a fender geddy lee, no markings or anything, and at £33 it isn't going to be, but I cant for the life of me think of any other basses which have a similar neck. Which is why I'm delving into the pool of knowledge that is the talkbass community heh. A little bit more info; It's from the UK, where I am, so it's unlikely to be any form of SX neck. There's no skunk stripe on the back. It doesn't have a truss rod. The width at the neck pocket, which used to accommodate a squier p neck perfectly, is about 3mm less than the squier equivalent. Oh and the headstock looks like this: For the money I paid it's an excellent neck, I've just been wondering what it might have come off of. Similarly if anyone has any ideas about the body, it used to be some sort of 70s p knock-off, but it definitely isn't plywood, as you might be able to tell from the badly routed pickup holes (project pickup tester bass I'm afraid - stickers'll sort those), and it's ridiculously heavy. But yeah, any info concerning the neck would be really appreciated - but regardles of what it is it's going to have my name painted onto the headstock ha! Cheers for looking peeps.
