Need help identifying these two strings

Both B strings

One of them is DR sunbeam

the other is a EB Regular slinky

i forgot to label both of these sets so now im not sure which is which.

i noticed the left one has a weird little loop around itself by the ball end and it also has a slightly brassy color.

the left one is slightly more bright gold color.

any clues? Unfortunately they dont have color windings so They are identical on that end.

Take a magnifying glass and look closely at the core wire around the ball ends.

Round core = Sunbeams.
Hex core = Slinkys.

thanks, is there anything specific im trying to spot? Trying to look over the ball and into the opening of the string winding but dont really see anything Hex like in any.

These are the ball ends up close.. so far the main difference I can see is the small loop around itself on the left string. The E A D strings have it on that set.

I'm talking about the shape of the core wire itself. A round core would be smooth all around, while a hex core would have edges.

Here's another way to tell which is which...

Can you feel the difference between those two B strings in term of stiffness? Assuming those two B strings are the same gauges, the one with the hex core should feel stiffer than the one with the round core.

Here's one more test...

The Sunbeam should feel finer in surface texture with a thinner cover wire than the Slinky.

Looking at the picture in your original post, the one on the right looks like the Sunbeam with thinner cover wire.

Just thought of something else...

Measure the length of those two strings from the ball end to where the full winding ends at the tuner end. The Sunbeam would be longer at around 37.75" - 38", while the Slinky should be around 37.25".

Thanks! yeah I think that should help enough to ID them. One of them does seem a bit stiffer to bend for sure.
