Need help in deciding SVT Head.

Does anyone know when the CLs were introduced? Jimmy?

According to this post, the MTIs were made from 1981-84. Has there been a period of time since 1969 when no SVTs were made?

According to the article in Bass Player, the SVT Classic was introduced in 1994.

The SVT II replaced the SVT from 1990-1994. It's a bit of a guess, but from the same article it looks like the VR was first reviewed (as newly introduced) by BP in late 2006. Jerrold or Jimmy might be able to get more accurate dates.

Which has me thinking the 86 is an HD model considering the SLM buy from MTI was 86 was it not? Which, if it is an HD, I would definitely go for that.

mti made the svt from 80-81-ish to 85. the skunkworks head (svt-hd) was 86-89. the svt 2 was 89, the 2 pro 92, the cl 94. to date, other than maybe brief transitional periods while the new companies got themselves together, the svt has been in constant production since 69.

thanks to gregg hopkins and his ampeg book, btw.

btw, anyone else but me notice the irony that the skunkworks heads, of which only 500 were made, took 3 years to sell out, yet the heritage svt-cl took less than a year to sell 250? and people laugh at me when i say the demand for tube amps is greater now than it's ever been. HA! take that!
