Need help making a decision

Im looking forward to start recording some music with a friend as a hobby. Nothing professional, just wanting to experiment.

I have own two basses: a Squier Bronco and a Ibanez TMB100. The Ibanez is currently not functional, i need to take it to guitar center so i can repair some of the electronics.

Which option should i pick for the best music production experience? Should i repair the Ibanez, or stick with the Bronco? Should i spend the money on some new pickups for the Bronco? Im kinda short on money so i need help deciding what will be better in the long run.

Well, try the Bronco. Just a hobby, for now. Then if you want a different sound, try something else.

raise the PU on the Bronco if it's not there now and you might like the sound better. I did. great bass.
