Need help, mb fusion direct or avid eleven

Hey guys, i need some quick advice.

I am going into the studio shortly for our band's new album, and had been planning on recording direct out of my MB Fusion. I just talked to the producer and he wants to try his Avid Eleven. What i've been finding online is ok, but all the reviewers seem to say its good, but that they are guitar players primarily. (Also, i've seen none with a P-bass)

I don't have too much time to dink with it, but it has an SVT modeler, which ideally, should sound good.

Its really my choice, the producer is mellow, but if it sounds better, i want to give it a shot. I'm going in before the electric guitars, acoustic, and fiddle player, so its kind of a crapshoot how it will sound in the end mix.

Has anyone had any luck recording with this? I'm not concerned with live sound, that is what popped up when i did a TB search.

I was not impressed with the Eleven on bass. I found just going direct through a JDI sounded quite a bit better. That could have as much to do with the operator as it did with the gear, so if it's an easy thing to do, try both.

I've tried quite a few different things for recording my bass (not a Precision though), and I have an 11 rack.
Imo the 11 is not bad at all with bass, it's worth a shot, you may really like it. But I ended up preferring
a DI out from a bass preamp personally (SansAmp RBI, Mesa M6 or Genz Benz combo).

I say take your MB fusion head with you but try the 11 out since you have the opportunity to.

Almost forgot, if the studio has the 11 set up for it, the 11 can record two tracks at the same time,
one wet and one dry.
So you could still reamp your recorded bass tracks later from the dry track through whatever you
prefer if you don't completely like the results from the 11's bass amp models.
Just a thought.

Thanks guys, the fusion sounded way better, but he might do some re-amping once the guitars are done.
