Need help picking a cab.

Help me? Looking for the best “bang for buck” cab.

Requirements:
4 ohms
Relatively lightweight. No 8x10s, 2x15’s, etc.
Capable of being a single-cab rig (fed with a GB Streamliner 900)
Good for loud fast hardcore punkrock
Under a grand (the more the better) new or used.

I don’t do tweeters, but am not against mid drivers. I don’t have the time, the patience or the ability to build a fEarful. I’d like to have a single-cab rig (again), but am not interested in monstrous “fridge” style cabs. “Big” Schroeders might work, but my past experience with them isn’t the greatest. They’re fantastic cabs, but just not (necessarily) my “voice”. I had trouble getting enough bottom out of them in the past. Would love to keep the cab weight under 100 pounds.

Must be capable of playing small to medium-ish sized venues without PA support.

Suggestions? Experiences? Free apples?

An Avatar TB153 might do the trick . Mine is pretty punchy even though the low end is very extended . It stays really tight when pushed too and gets loud enough for mid sized gigs for sure . You can get them in 4 ohms if you want . They have a tweeter but you can turn it down and with the mid it has it stays pretty smooth anyway .

You can have a fEARful built.. If you do, I wouldn't get too hung up on 4ohms. The sensitivity on these guys will make ya forget about it... Portable solution? 12/6 and 12sub.. if you need both, there's your 4 ohms. Downside, its slightly out of your stated price range.. OTOH, this could be the permanent cure for cab GAS..

as awesome as the fearfuls are, anybody who knows me even a little knows there's no such thing as a "permanent cure" for any of my GAS :D
