Need help - Squier Precision Bass

Trade offers are coming in for the bass I have for sale. I am downgrading and really wanted to go for a short scale. Here's a Squier P-Bass that was offered up - not a short scale as far as I can tell. Year is unknown. Made in Indonesia.

So my questions are:
  • What year does it look like?
  • Is it worth $175?
  • What do you think those holes by the bridge are from?
I know very little about Squier basses so ANY information, opinions, comments will be helpful and VERY much appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Pete

I can't really tell you much just by looking as there could be a few mods done. The serial # is what you really need:

My best guess: Either a Precision Affinity or a CV/VM P-Bass.

-If it's an affinity, that's not much of a deal, because that's the price they are new.
-For a CV/VM P-Bass, it would be a good deal (assuming it's in good condition and comes with that case). CV/VM basses are about $300 new. It is made much better and has a better pickup (imo). You'd have to play it to really tell the difference and decide your preference though.

The holes around the bridge probably used to be a bridge cover (something like below).

I'll echo the opinions of others here, I would never pay $175 for that bass. While it is a nice bass, I myself wouldnt go over $100 as you can go get that bass or one of its equal for about the same as he is asking or a tad bit more. No deal IMO.

It is an old school affinity, black label Squier is a good indicator. I cannot tell you the exact year based on that one photo but it was made sometime between the mid-90s and 2012.

The bass is most definitely not worth $175, even in mint condition. I cannot give a direct price as you are not a supporting member but even with a case that price is too high.

The holes are for a bridge cover which was not standard.
