need help with a pre amp question

hi, I have a bass amp head, and my buddy gave me a line tube pre amp, can I add that to my rig?

Sure you can....what kind is it and what head do you have?

Yes, and you have 2 ways of using it. stacked, as in, in line through your amps main input, (gives full control of both devices), or in your amps poweramp in or effects return, which then bypasses your amps preamp in favor of the new one.
