I was going to try another set of pickups so i unsoldered the 2 input wires. when i went to put the emg pups back in i soldered the wires back on to the input jack and its not working now. i am super pissed off because now i have no bass, new stings, and a new bass amp coming tomorrow. can anyone help me?

There is a lot going on when you changed pick ups. EMG's have the pre amp built into the pick up there for needing a battery. Did you wire the other pick ups to the EMG pots? If so did you disconnect the battery? The pots That are used for EMG are 25k And the pots for passive pick ups are around 250k to 500k. I don't know if the combination would work (Passive pick ups with 25k pots and a battery).

The first thing I would do is replace the battery. Check the amp, too. Plug the chord into the amp and turn the amp up a little bit and touch the tip of the chord at the other end. If you hear a pop, click or buzz the amp should be ok. I had a battery short out to the amp and fried the volume pot in the amp.

Double check your wiring and make sure it is right and no strands are touching other areas.

No i did not touch the wiring on the pots, the bass came with the emg pups and were all wired up and it worked fine. i just got new batterys so i will replace them when i get my amp, the amp is on the ups truck so i am waiting for that now! when i wired the passive pups up i used a different pickgaurd pots caps and wires so i never used the emg 25k pots all i did was unsolder the emg input jack everything else was left alone. so i dont know why its not working now? also where do i need to wire the bridge ground to? i forgot where it was soldered to when i disconnected it.

also where do i need to wire the bridge ground to? i forgot where it was soldered to when i disconnected it.

You don't need to wire the bridge ground. EMG's pickups are internally shielded so no ground bridge are needed. If you still want to wire it, just solder the wire to any ground points.
From the picture it seems to me the "pickup hot" solder point in the input jack touch the ground.
