need help with spiceing up a bass line

ive got most of the song figured out but i cant get the chorus wich basicly goes like

this was only the last half of it which is there i need help i would like to take all the 7's and have it start on the 7 but change it to were the last ones are an increase in pitch....i hope that make sence

So is that One Two and Three Four and One Two and Three e and a keep playing the note forever? Or a One and a two and a three and a four e and a etc?

Either way, let's say the song is in D major. You could just play a D scale up starting on the 2nd (E) (...for whatever that count may be)

Ex:

-------------------------------------------------

I'm guessing, staying true to the D major, that a riff in Em would work for the E part...

What song is this, that may help us help you.

I normally follow the chords, i.e. play chord tones under the chord. For example; Cm7 chord - somewhere between all roots, R-R-R-R (C-C-C-C) and the exact chord tones for Cm7 - R-b3-5-b7 (C-Eb-G-Bb) lies a pretty good bass line.

From what you gave us (two notes, D & E) I have no idea what key the song may be in, so really can not help you flesh it out.

Are you transcribing by ear, do you have access to the chords used in the song, i.e. do you have fake chord or lead sheet music on this song? I presume you have figured out the verses, tell us what you found there.

Little more information would help us help you. After we get the notes we can work on the beat.

Your post makes no sense. You're asking for something to be played over a series of chords when no one knows anything about the sound of the song. It's like asking for lyrics for a song about "love."

Start with learning more about music and more about grammer, spelling, punctuation and articulation. Then decide if music is really for you. People play music to express their ideas -- not ask for others to think or create for them. If you have to do that, you'll most likely never be able to do it.

Since there are tens of thousands of people who can, perhaps the bass isn't for you -- unless you just want to have fun as a hobby. If so, do it for fun. Don't ask how to have fun.

Here's something simple. It's likely to work regardless of key, and it will might just get you where you want to go.

Let's start with the "D" part. Just run a quick minor pentatonic up from the A string 5 fret listed on your tab (the "D")

-5---8-----------------------------

Whip through the above in time with the band, and then end with a double-stop and a 16th accent on the "E" portion (an octave up from the tab you listed. It replaces the "7" there, and/or you can fret and hold the 7 without attack).

-------------------------------------

This at least gives you a little lick to work with.

If you are still around ------. Your two notes were D and E, it hit me yesterday - a thought unloosened - that song may be in the key of A, i.e. A-D-E is the I IV V chords in the key of A and the I IV V chords have written thousands of songs.

A, D and E are also three of your strings.

Start with your A's. Move to your D's then your E's and end the phrase - verse- song - whatever, back on the A.

See how that works.
