Need help with technique!

I am trying to play mini chords using frets on both the d and g strings however whenever I try and play these chords the note on the d string is not played and I can only hear the note on the g string!
I have no idea what causes this, I dont know what I am doing wrong since I am strumming them fine and my fingers are fine on the frets...
Any ideas anyone?

First of all, if you are only playing two notes, you can't use the word "chords." I realize that you tried to convey this by using the word "mini," but just an FYI - a better term for them is "double-stops."

In any case, are you fingering the notes "on the frets" just as you posted? I finger notes on a fretted bass a bit behind the fret, not on the fret. Sometimes when I accidentally hit a note right on the fret it gets "squashed."

I agree with the previous post, they are double stops! Anyway make some picture to post here so it will be better to explain better what you need.

Sorry, I see what you mean , bad expression on my part! Shall use the term from now on! xD
After actually taking note with the camera I think I know what I'm doing, as my finger strums down on the G I think it is deadening the D string note!
I have found it very hard to avoid this though, if this is in fact the problem. :S
