Need Ideas....

So yesterday, I picked up a brand new Epiphone EB-0 at work. This dude came in and traded in like ten brand new guitars and basses, And grabbed this one off of him for $40!!! Anyways, since It's just something to mess around with as I already have a SR905 as my main bass. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with Epiphones and if there were any possible mods to do to these for cheap.

I've heard that by adding a couple of capacitors to the wiring you can get more of the genuine Gibson tone. Can Anyone confirm or deny this?
