Looking to buy a Peavey Tour 700 head and a Tour 810 cabinet.I do not know much about this set up. Any help will be nice! I was looking at Ampeg but the cost is a little out of budget.Thanks.

Need info on Peavey head and cabinet!!!

The Tour 810 is voiced more like two 410s, meaning it has a heavier low end response than most 810s and it has a built in tweeter. Check out the VB-810 if you want a more traditional 810. It's around the same price. The Tour 810 is lighter weight due to neo speakers and a lightweight cabinet design.

I had a Peavey Max 700 for a few years. As will most Peavey gear it is very well built. While I never ran it through an 8x10 I did run it through a single 2x12, a 4x10+1x15, a 2x12+4x10 and a 2x12+2x10+1x15. The nice thing about the amp was that it could run at 2ohms all day long so mixing/matching cabs was a nice option. You could safely run two 8x10's with it (provided each is 4 ohms).
I ended up trading it because I was never really a big fan of the the tone, it was too sterile for my taste. The head was also extremely heavy and the handles sucked. It was my first bass head and it served me very well for 3+ years and never failed on me!
