Need new pickups for Epiphone Thunderbird IV Bass

any sugestions on some nice punchy pickups that would go well with the epi thunderbird?

FWIW:

I liked the Epi T-bird pups and keep a set around, although I haven't really played in a long time. I've meant to do a side by side with the Gibson's after I picked a pair up but have never got around to it. I did install an Epi briefly to get some idea and I was surprised how similar they are but not the same.

I'd have to re-read my own review in FAQ but the Epi's were clear and defined in tone from recall and that's a good mix for punch from a pup. There's rig, eq, and other factors.

With the Epi dimensions you can also slip J's in there if you wanted to - just have to fashion a surround but that wouldn't be a big deal. You could probably just use the J screws and wouldn't even have to go into the face of the bass for it. Too big of route is not really a problem, too small is a problem. And there's a million J's out there.

Of course there's always Carey to fix you up.
