need new practice combo

hey i need a new practice combo since my crate bt15 is crap i was looking at the gallien-Krueger Backline 110 i dont need anything fancy since ive only been playing for a few years but want something that sounds good and is fairly cheap but im open to anything i cant spend much more than $250.

When I was looking for a small practice combo, I A/B'd the GK BL110 against what I ultimately bought....the Studio 110 combo from Line 6. The Studio 110 is lighter, louder and has more features. The amp modeling capability on the Studio 110 are very impressive, as is the DI which is pretty unique for an amp in this price range. Anyway, at $249 retail...give it a look.

You can usually pick them up, delivered for under $180.

i recently bought an older used peavey tko 115 for $300. one of the best purchases I've ever made. it's built like a tank, has a good EQ, and can get pretty loud, the only down side is that it's really heavy.

$190. Super-simple. Built like a brick - thick plywood with metal knobs and grille. Sounds great and stays deep even at max power.

I originally bought a Line 6 Lowdown 110 hoping it would meet my need for a clean sounding practice amp. Physically speaking, the build quality was good, but it put out too much hiss and noise. I sent it back and took a chance on the Warwick. I think the noise problem is endemic to the Lowdown 110s; I'd be interested if anyone has one that actually sounds pristine.

I bought a TNT for practice. Yes, I should have kept mine. The band really likes the sound.

Sorry, I meant I bought another one. Never should have sold my original TNT since it was in *much* better shape than the one I just bought.

And they are kinda hard to get around here. When one comes up for sale you have to jump on it since it won't last a week.

how about the Ampeg BA112?

The Ampeg Ba112 is good.

You should also consider a SWR Workingmans 12 (pre Fender).

They're both good and when going direct could cut it on a lot of gigs as well.

You can find either one of these used for not much $$$$$$$$$$
