I have a Genz Benz GBE 600 that I got a few weeks ago and I just cant seem to dial in a good tone, If anyone has this head or has used please please help me out, I have a gig sat and need to get this worked out!!!!!

I need like a full sound mostly on the loew end. It's tough for me because I play such different styles of music all in one band. It ranges from folk/rock/indie/alternative/classic.
So need some solid with some low end but still bright.

I have an EBM Epiphone 5 string and I am running this head thru and ampeg 810E. No my previous rig was a piece not worth mentioning. Now on this head should I be running more pre-amp volume then master volume to get a better tone?

I used to own one. It is an extremely versatile head but I do find you have to dial it in a bit more than my GK, which I practically play flat. I find that the tube pre is fatter in tone than the solid state, so use either the tube or the combo with both on. Also, try the bass boost. I'd try to get close like that, then dial it in with the tone knobs last.

Anyway, what has worked for me with my GB stuff was the "one knob opposites" approach. I start with everything flat (including anyknobs on the bass itself) and play for a bit. After playing some different styles I will adjust the low knob to taste, then I will play the same stuff I was playing before for a bit and stop.
After stopping for a few minutes, I will adjust the opposite knob to taste; since the first knob adjusted was low, the next adjusted would be the high (the "opposite" knob of the low knob). Once this is complete, I play the same stuff for a couple of minutes, stop for a couple of minutes. and then adjust the next opposite knob, which in this case would be the low-mid knob. This process will repeat until I get what I'm looking for dialed in.
Hope that makes sense. It's a bit complicated, but I feel that it gives me a strategic approach to adjusting so many knobs
