Need some help please...

Okay, I'm not sure if this is in the right forum or not, but I'm going for it anyway.

It's my girlfriend's birthday next week, and she loves jazz and plays the trumpet. I'm going to buy her some jazz cd's, but don't know a lot about particular artists. My dad suggested Dizzy Gillespie and my music teacher, Miles Davis. Does anyone know of any particular recordings that would be good? Any tracks I should look out for?

It's kind of urgent, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks and have a good day.

You can't go wrong with either one.

If you're looking for some lovin' go with either Blue Miles or Love Songs by Miles Davis.

Something funky, The birth of the cool, Bitches Brew, Electric miles or any number of others. Miles put out 50 plus albums so there is plenty of selection. The above are just some of my favorites.

Might I also suggest absolutely anything by:
Charlie Parker
Duke Ellington
Thelonius Monk
Maynard Ferguson
Louis Armstrong

...and the list could go on forever. Try to stick with the "standards" (or big name guys) and you can't go wrong.
