Need some help

I am try to find the right Strings, I had try several brands but it's getting expensive trying to find the right set.

What I being looking for is a set of Strings that gives you the punchy lows but also looking for a very bright tone. I used to like Nickel but they are indeed warmer than steel. I would like to get a set of steels that don't turn dark grey fast, that last and it is soft for the fingers. The Nickel is very comfortable and they don't turn gray but I need something a little bit brighter. What do you all recommend?

The only ss strings ive tried were the roto rs66, great for the first 4 days but then they become dull and thunk... ive heard good things about dr highbeams, i to am interested as i might be going back to rounds later on and want the tone youve described.

Is the dark grey just an annoyance thing?

DR HiBeams or FatBeams sound like what you want. Get Dragon Skins if you want them to last longer (they are coated). All of them are dark grey though..they're stainless steel. You can see the various sets here:

Well is not too much on the annoyance, I just making my own assumption that if they change color it means that they aren’t gone last. I had an experience a set that it did turn dark in color and it lasted 3 more weeks after that.

That's how I knew my guitar strings were spent. The high strings loose their shine and get that dirty nasty grey.

I think that's very different to wound stainless steel bass strings.

I use Hii Beams and Roto Nickels ( with blue silk). Like em both.

I use DR Hi Beams and Sadowsky Black Label Stainless are Bright and Last fairly long . They have a little more tension than DR being them having a Hex Core.

You can get very bright tone out of D'Addario Prosteels but they seem to be a little harsher than others on the hands IME. As Foderaman said, the Sadowsky strings are bright, will last fairly long and are, IME, easier on the hands that some other SS strings.
