Need some info on Hamer Cruise basses...

More pics to follow tomorrow. Man, what a sweet bass! It's just incredible. I'd use that quote from spinal tap about sustain, but I'm not quote sober enough to remember how it goes... but seriously, the sustain is ridiculous. Full, in depth review tomorrow.

Dimly lit dorm room + cell phone camera = mediocre pics
Booty shot- a few clear coat scratches, perfectly reasonable for a well-gigged 16 year old bass
Please excuse the dorm room mess. The inlays are quite good. Leveled perfectly, plenty of luster- good job random luthier
Far from the worst looking headstock out there
2tek bridge- excellent bit of engineering in my opinion, even if it does add two pounds

The asymmetrical neck is nice. A 5er has never felt more comfortable in my hand. This is the first EMG-equipped bass I've ever really liked. Tone-wise, they cover a ridiculous amount of ground. I'd post some sound clips if I wasn't 4 hours away from my tascam interface.

Weight- A bit shy of 10.5 pounds with strap. Not light by any means, but lighter than my Corvette and very manageable.

I'm beyond happy with this purchase. I now understand why a lot of people referred to these basses as "jazz killers". This one feels and sounds better than any Fender I've played, including a couple CS Fenders. It blows my mind that these basses never really gained popularity. My beloved 'wick is probably going to be my backup now. Thanks to everyone for the input and advice!

Congrats, what i nice bass. I always wanted to to try one since they were introduced. The designer in me is silently screaming about headstock logo thou - i think you should put a nice small black decal on that empty spot or something >_<
Kudos to nixdad, great to hear from people who had something to do with commercially available instruments we all know. Would love to hear more stories on how basses are designed in big companies.

I hadn't even noticed the empty spot before you mention it... you make a good point. I suppose the spacing was a necessity due to the 4+1 layout, but it almost bugs me now. It needs a hello kitty sticker or something.
