Need Tech Advice, Please

The door to my bass's battery casing broke off. (Yamaha TRB-1004) In order to fix it (preferably better than I've done with duct tape) the entire battery casing has to be replaced. I ordered one from Yamaha, so I have it. I also have a screw driver, so I'm armed and dangerous.

Should I attempt this repair myself, having never done this before? Or should I take it in for the tech to do?

I do my own set-ups, intonation, etc., so that portion of my brain is semi-functional. But I've never opened up the back before and have no idea what I'm getting into there. If it's a simple process, I'll take it on. But if it's an overly delicate operation that I'm likely to bumble, thereby stopping the earth on it's axis, I'll pony up the bucks and use my other bass while this one's in the shop.

It depends if you are comfortable soldering. Generally, solder red to red and black to black. I'm not familiar with Yamaha battery boxes, but that's how most work.

If you do take it in, this should be about a 10 minute repair - I wouldn't think you would have to leave it.
