Just curious about this---since in this day and age you can pretty easily get in touch with anybody, whether it's myspace, googling for contact info, etc.
Is it looked-down on in the biz to reach out to big-time producers or artists you admire--cold call/email I guess is what I mean---to offer your bass services? In my case I would offer to track some bass for free to see if they like it, etc. Or do the big guns just not wanna deal with peeps trying to make the climb unless they've been referred somehow?
