New album out tomorrow

This album was actually recorded in 2008. The band broke up in June of that year so it was never mixed. It’s finally being released tomorrow, April 17th. Don’t even ask what happened. I used a Steinberger L2 DIed on the entire album.

Here’s the band playing the ICONS (Irish Connections) festival held in Canton, MA back in 2007. Bass is a Steinberger XM2, my L2 is out of sight.

Cool stuff, I detect some Asian Indian and eastern Euro influence as well. Did you hear about Maire Brennan?

No, I didn’t hear about Maire Brennan…thx.

Trouz Bras had two percussionists, one with an Irish music background played bodhran and congas, the other with a Middle Eastern music background played djembe, riq, ankle bells, etc. as well as cajon. The second guy is where the Eastern sounds you hear are coming from. The guy who played fiddle, bouzouki and bombarde makes his own clay drums and he's overdubbed on various percussion throughout.

Not that this is the same, but as a kid I wore out my VHS tape of Riverdance. Not because of the dancing, and definitely not because of Mr. Flatley… the band. The band was outrageously good and the music was SO sick. To this day I still will put it up on YouTube and blast it through my stereo.
