My newest aquisition arrived today! Purchased from gastric here on the classifieds.

I haven't had a chance to really push it yet (girlfriend is not feeling well and it's getting late), but I have band practice on Thursday and I'll put it through its paces then. I can't wait!

Here it is with the rest of the family

I see your svt 3 pro next to the 2 pro. I sold my 3 and bought the 2 pro. If you havent had a chance to blast this amp yet you are in for a SERIOUS treat. It makes the 3 pro sound like a pocket amp.

Well, I have band practice tonight, and a gig tomorrow. I'm jacked to use this amp with my Mesa Powerhouse cab for (hopefully) that cab's final gig.

Got a chance to turn it up a bit louder yesterday and I gotta say it sounded really good. Very thumpy while still retaining a nice clear top end.

What are people's general opinion of the DI out? Is it quality, or should I have the sound guy run an external DI instead?

actually you should mic it with a quality mic ;)

but if you use the di, it should be fine. haven't used the 2 pro very often, but i use cl's all the time and have yet to have a problem with the di.

Well, gig went really well on Friday. I had spent that whole afternoon listening to Mr Big, so as soon as I got home that evening I busted out my Yamaha Attitude and restrung it back to standard tuning for the evening (normally tuned to C standard).

Unfortunately I can't really comment on the tone too much because I could hardly hear myself on stange because the damn vocal monitors were so loud, but the band before us asked to use my bass gear, and for them it sounded great! He was playing a Stingray of some kind, and the bass sounded super growly, punchy and rich.

The bass rig was mic'd with an AKG kick mic (I think), and the sound guy also used the XLR out on the back of the head. Before the set I had set it to about 12:00, and he told me afterward that he had come back and cranked it wide open after the first song.

My bass sounded super clacky on stage whenever I solo'd the P pickup, but apparently that didn't carry through to FOH at all. I was running it with a bit of drive, a bass boost, slight low mid cut, slight treble boost, and no Ultra switches.
