Been playing guitar for 15 years, and I've had my sisters American Special P bass sitting at my house for the last month (I was selling it for her). I've dabbled a bit before, but decided I should give learning the bass an honest go; I got REALLY hooked. Maybe it's just because it's new...but I actually like playing bass more than guitar. I play drums as well, and I'm really drawn to rhythm. Just feels right.
Anyway, I decided I would buy myself a new bass once I sold hers... I thought about just buying that one but the neck was so thin I couldn't stand it. Sold it a few days ago and I've been borrowing my sons Jazz bass in the meantime...it just really made me miss the P. The sound and feel are all wrong on the Jazz. I went out today and tried a ton of different basses, really keeping an open mind, but I was drawn back to the P bass, and this one was just a standout.
Fender American Pro II. Love the look of it, and the feel is exceptional; it just plays so nicely. I'm not fighting it at all like I felt I was with the other 2. Best of all it's insanely resonant (which is what I typically look for in my guitars). I've honestly never heard anything like it...it's like playing an acoustic compared to everything else I tried.
Really wasn't gonna splurge this much right off the bat, but nothing else even came close. I had to have it!
