Picked up my new bass uke from Eric's Guitar, a RondoMusic Hadean violin/Hofner style 21" scale ($179 on sale) that was painted Les Paul gold by Pat Wilkins ($350). Eric's mods ($293) included a full setup plus with parts I provided, replaced the limited adjustment floating bridge with a Korean fully adjustable metal bridge that has a piezo pickup in each saddle ($82), new larger pickguard, tuners with Gotoh Compact ($55), tailpiece with Hofner style ($12.50), Strat black and gold pot knobs ($12). Strings are Kala/Galli flatwound nylon core ($55), he also added an on/off slide switch for the active preamp so I could leave my Legato 5.8GHz pod ($60) plugged in during breaks.
I had them do this look from a post here on TB that asked if anyone bought a bass guitar because it was made the year of their birth. I was born in 1949 and the only bass guitar available at that time was the first electric bass guitar ever made, an Audiovox (Seattle) 736/Serenader designed by Paul Tutmarc in 1936.

It's not an exact version, just my tribute to the Audiovox using the Hofner style, which is the only bass uke I can play comfortably now with nerve damage to my neck spinal cord from radiation treatments for cancer years ago, That's why the strap button is on the end of the headstock, can't wear it over my shoulder, I now wrap it behind my back and have to play sitting.
